Moxii Room Makeover Giveaway

Moxii is proud to say that our Room Makeover Giveaway is now complete. The design team had so much fun last week surprising our winner with her own bedroom makeover. She already had a great room and beautiful deep caramel walls to work with. Her style is funky and cute, so the design teamed worked hard to keep her personality shining throughout the room. We loved her dark wood floors as well, so we chose to base our bedding scheme on the Rutched Sand Dune Quilt to add some texture to the space. We paired the Rutched Sand Dune quilt with two Madison Tan Euros and One Regina Java Euro Sham to add some pattern. With the addition of some standard shams, like the Virdine Brown, and Beeline Capri, the bedding was almost complete. To add some spunk, we paired two decorative pillows, the Brown Cheetah print, and our own Regina Java Ruffle pillow to spice up the look. The chocolate pompom throw also added just the right finishing touch.

Our bedding choices also stemmed from the fabric that our winner used to reupholster an old chair. This funky fabric selection let us know that her room update needed to be eye-catching, something that says “fun” but with class. So we added this organic shaped, light colored animal rug to the floor at the bottom of the bed, and it made the perfect statement against the dark wood floor.  Below you’ll see one of the hand-painted original canvases from the Moxii retail store that highlighted just the right colors from the bedding selection.

We love how the canvas really highlights the antique church bench that our lucky winner wanted to keep in her room. It is a quaint but cute touch.

This is the entry to the bedroom that we decided to spice up just a little. By changing out a lamp in the room with another, adding a focal point with some flowers, and some cute pictures, this little nook took a whole different look! We also added a vertical collage to the adjacent wall that consists of two of her photos and keepsakes and an original from the design team, a simple burlap mat covered by a paper doily. A very inexpensive way to add a feminine touch!

To compliment the opposite wall with the local artwork, we added these original African artwork canvases to the wall and love the pop they get from the wall color behind. Also, seen are two new lamps that we added that have a lighted base and a normal lighted shade. The leaves around the base bring in a nature element that coincides with the bedroom looking directly out into the woods.

As per request from our winner, we wanted to make the family photos that our client loves a definite focal point. After addressing the side walls with interesting decorative canvases, we thought that a photo collage over the headboard would be just the right touch to not only highlight all those special memories, but also bring even more visual height to the room by “stacking” the photos vertically. Overall, we feel that our Room Makeover was quite the success, and our winner was even more elated, saying that Moxii went above and beyond her expectations!
