What’s Your Color?

Research suggests that color can affect your mood, emotions, and in some cases actually improve your health.  While you are away at college, it is important to choose your dorm colors wisely because this is the place where you will spend a lot of time studying and hanging out with friends.  Since colors can influence your mood and thoughts, it’s a good idea to pick colors based on your personality.  Here is a list of some colors and how they might affect you:

Yellow is welcoming and cheerful, it captures the joy of sunshine and communicates happiness.  It recharges, energizes, revitalizes, and enhances concentration.  Having yellow in your dorm will definitely brighten your day.

Red raises a room’s energy level and stimulates conversation.  It’s a great choice if you are looking to stir up some excitement in your dorm.  Being surrounded by red will boost your energy level and increase metabolic activity.

Pink is a romantic color that is more tranquilizing than red.  It soothes, acquiesces while it promotes friendliness and affection. So if you are a girly girl who wants an approachable room then use pink as part of your color scheme for your dorm.

Blue enhances clear thinking, diligence and organization.  It is also considered relaxing, serene, and is known to have a calming effect.  People are more productive when surrounded by blue, so if you need motivation to do school work but also want a tranquil, relaxing atmosphere, blue is the color for you.

Green is believed to relieve stress by helping people relax and it is also considered the most restful color for the eye.  It encourages unwinding but is warm enough to encourage comfort and togetherness.    Green is associated with nature, health, and peacefulness, so If you find yourself constantly stressed about your classes green is the color for you.

Orange evokes excitement, enthusiasm and is a very energetic color.  It’s a lively color associated with warmth.  If you want to have a cheerful dorm room that stimulates conversation then choose an orange quilt or duvet cover from Moxii!

Let Us Design Your Room

Hey everyone! We’ve been working really hard this week to focus on helping those of you who just don’t know where to start. What I mean is that we have customers call us and say, “I’ve seen this quilt on the website, but I don’t know what can go with it!?! I need your advice!” We particularly love these kind of calls because that allows us to do what we do best, design….

Lately I’ve been working on a little sketch for a customer who knew what quilt she wanted, but wanted some additional items to coordinate with the room.

So, I told her that I’d give her a little help in visualizing the room:

I basically took the bedding she wanted to start with (Capri and Coral Pink BeeLine Bedding), and then gave her some pillow options (Pink Punch Gerbera and Sunburst Gerbera) and added a great rug (Tropicana Rug)! It didn’t take too terribly long to do it either! So….give us calls and let us help you with your “design dilemmas” before you give yourself a headache!

The Countdown Begins

Moxii Visits Samford University

Hi Everyone! Moxii started off this week full speed as we headed to Samford University’s student orientation on Monday. We were able to set up a display table with some awesome Moxii products for the upcoming Samford Freshman to check out. We think the overall response was great!  We’re hoping that those of you who live in the Birmingham area will take advantage of Moxii’s Birmingham Design Studio! We offer complimentary design consultations to those who just want to come by and chat about options, or for those who just don’t know where to begin! Also, were expecting the website to be up at the end of the week! So keep being patient all of you who are wondering if you should wait to order from Moxii! Moxii Photoshoot in Auburn
