DIY: Make Your Own Headboard

Recently, moxii had the privilege to share with myhomeideas.com our favorite how-to’s and design tips. We transformed a drab dorm room into a comfortable and beautiful space.

One of the best features of the room were the coffee bean bag headboards made for both beds in the dorm room. One bed was positioned like that of a day-bed or couch topped with plush, decorative pillows. The headboards completed the room with moxii style!

Make It “You”

Recently, we received pictures from two roommates at the University of Alabama. With smiles from ear to ear, they thanked us for making their dorm room a “home away from a home” and a room that expresses who they are as individuals.

Check out the pictures below. You see that they coordinated their room with one another using the Damask Raine and Baize Green quilts.

They also added a touch of their own personality with custom window panels, monogrammed pillows, and original art work.

Sketching away….

Hey everyone….Well, it’s getting pretty close to the end of summer vacation, and that means classes will soon begin! If you’re still having trouble finding just the right look for your dorm room, let us help! Even if you found something else, like a comforter, at another place, let Moxii help you complete the look!

This is exactly what we’re doing for some other girls! They had some comforters from another place, and are using Brown BeeLine Bedding to finish off there beds! We’ve paired that with some great shelving to maximize space, and some awesome Moxii decorative accessories! Take a look!

Let Us Design Your Room

Hey everyone! We’ve been working really hard this week to focus on helping those of you who just don’t know where to start. What I mean is that we have customers call us and say, “I’ve seen this quilt on the website, but I don’t know what can go with it!?! I need your advice!” We particularly love these kind of calls because that allows us to do what we do best, design….

Lately I’ve been working on a little sketch for a customer who knew what quilt she wanted, but wanted some additional items to coordinate with the room.

So, I told her that I’d give her a little help in visualizing the room:

I basically took the bedding she wanted to start with (Capri and Coral Pink BeeLine Bedding), and then gave her some pillow options (Pink Punch Gerbera and Sunburst Gerbera) and added a great rug (Tropicana Rug)! It didn’t take too terribly long to do it either! So….give us calls and let us help you with your “design dilemmas” before you give yourself a headache!

Moxii Visits Samford University

Hi Everyone! Moxii started off this week full speed as we headed to Samford University’s student orientation on Monday. We were able to set up a display table with some awesome Moxii products for the upcoming Samford Freshman to check out. We think the overall response was great!  We’re hoping that those of you who live in the Birmingham area will take advantage of Moxii’s Birmingham Design Studio! We offer complimentary design consultations to those who just want to come by and chat about options, or for those who just don’t know where to begin! Also, were expecting the website to be up at the end of the week! So keep being patient all of you who are wondering if you should wait to order from Moxii! In the meantime, check out some quick pics from the Samford Orientation!

From Drab to Fab!

For those of you who are still wondering exactly what Moxii does, it’s quite simple: we specialize in taking the drab and ordinary and making it fabulous. The Birmingham team put their unique design skills to use just a few days ago as they set up two model units at the Ole Miss campus (Stewart and Kincannon halls). If you happen to be touring, go and check Moxii out! Using some great Moxii bedding and accessories, we were able to take two very drab dorm rooms, and make them over into something that everyone will be talking about as they leave!

This is what we started with……..

The finished product! Complete with Moxii’s custom over the bed shelving unit, pictured above, and several cute accessories. This room will be the talk of the hall!

Guys! Moxii didn’t forget about you! Remember this really boring dorm? Moxii took an overwhelming cold space and added some much needed warmth and life! Take a look:

Seen above is Moxii basic “BeeLine” bedding in Red, with a few shams. Guys, Moxii BeeLine, basic bedding is the way to go. Simple and Clean. Above the red bed is Moxii custom over the bed shelving, in Maple. Our shelving units are a great way to maximize space vertically, so you can store twice as much stuff. Also shown are navy, 84″ window panels used in lieu of closet doors, since this particular unit didn’t come furnished with closet doors! Guys, always try to hide your mess! (Trust us, the girls will appreciate it!) Panels can also be used in a female room if no closet doors are provided as a simple decorative element.

Trip to Auburn University: Model Room and Camp War Eagle

Last week we spent several days in Auburn, AL. Tuesday was mainly a travel and planning day…plus a staff meeting to kick off the busy season.

Wednesday the design team put together a model room at Cambridge@Auburn. They did a great job of having everything put together and ready for installation. I hope many of our clients will go by and check out our new shelving and 24″ bed skirts (super excited about this addition to the Moxii collection)!

Thursday, it was the first Camp War Eagle Business Fair. This one snuck up on us since most clients haven’t even graduated. The business fair was held in the new student center and was a success if I might say so. I LOVE that we set up a whole bed (with the Lucy Duvet…one of my favorites!) and had a stunning booth! It was a great way to kick off a busy summer!
